The best new products: what cars will be released in 2025
It is difficult to say what the next 10 years will bring to the automotive industry, especially given the rapid electrification of cars. However, we can already say for sure what awaits us in 2025.
Motor1 has compiled a list of the most interesting upcoming innovations. It includes everything from electric sedans and SUVs to supercars, hypercars, and everything in between. Some of these products are still shrouded in secrecy, but more should be revealed soon.
Alfa Romeo Giulia
Following the lead of many, the model will become electric. Using the same Stellantis STLA Large platform that underpins many electrified models, the next Giulia will have a very interesting design. The company also promises gasoline engine options in the lineup. The EV version can develop up to 1,000 horsepower in Quadrifoglio specs, while Alfa may use the same 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged Hurricane inline six-cylinder that is found in the Charger and Ram 1500. Details are still very scarce, but we should see the new Alfa towards the end of next year.
BMW M2 CS
BMW is already testing the new M2 CS, which means we could see it by the end of this year. It is reported that the model's rather small engine will produce 518 horsepower and the car will be equipped with rear-wheel drive. It should also receive improvements such as a stiffer suspension, better brakes, a simplified interior, and a slightly redesigned body.
BMW M3 EV
This model from the Germans is switching to electricity. Using the brand's Neue Klasse EV platform, the powerful battery-powered sedan promises to "surpass everything." Thanks to its 800-volt architecture, the new M3 will be able to carry batteries with capacities ranging from 75.0 to 150.0 kilowatt-hours with the ability to produce up to 1,341 horsepower in top performance. In its basic form, it will have about 700 horsepower. The BMW M3 EV could debut late next year, following its base 3 Series EV counterpart. But it should not be expected on sale before 2026 or even 2027.
BMW Neue Klasse Coupe
BMW is boldly launching an electric model called the Neue Klasse. The automaker will build a sports coupe on its new EV platform with proportions inspired by the M1. Details about this powerful car are quite limited, but it is already known that the Neue Klasse platform will be able to develop a range of up to 1000 km and 1341 horsepower. The electric M3 is expected to have at least 700 horsepower. The Neue Klasse coupe could make its debut in late 2025.
Chevrolet Corvette Zora
After the debut of the new ZR1, it became clear that Chevy has even bigger plans for the Corvette. The Corvette Zora, which has long been rumored, could debut next year. The model will combine the powerful V-8 of the ZR1 with a 1.1-kilowatt-hour E-Ray battery to produce a total output of at least 1,220 horsepower and standard all-wheel drive. Experts expect the model to be presented in 2025. It will be available for purchase in 2026.
Ferrari Electric Supercar
Ferrari has two new powerful cars on the horizon. The first of them is an electric supercar. Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna says that Ferrari's first electric car will have a "unique" feel that will still provide a satisfying and exciting driving experience. Ferrari has commissioned former Apple design chief Jony Ive to create the exterior, but early prototypes offer no hints of any specifics. Ferrari's first EV supercar may have two or four electric motors depending on the configuration, and a possible output of over 1000 horsepower. The new Ferrari EV is set to debut next summer.
Ferrari Hypercar
Ferrari's unnamed hypercar is scheduled to debut next year. The first spy photos give only a hint of its final design, and rumor has it that it could be the first Halo car after the F40 to have fewer than 12 cylinders in the engine. It could also have a hybrid V-8 or even a high-powered hybrid V-6 borrowed from the 296 GTB. The hypercar is expected to produce up to 1000 horsepower. Like the SF90, it should also have a short electric range. The SF90 can travel only 25 km on a single battery. It is expected that the Italian stable will build only 30 of these cars, and their prices will be about 2 million dollars.
Ford Expedition
Large SUVs are very popular nowadays, and one of the most desirable ones is to be updated in 2025. The Ford Expedition will get a redesigned interior and exterior and possibly improved engines. The base 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V-6 could see a slight increase in power. The current version has 375 horsepower in base form and up to 440 horsepower in top trims. The model is due to be presented next year and is expected to go on sale at the same time.
Lamborghini Revuelto SVJ
The Lamborghini Revuelto combines a 6.5-liter V-12 engine with three electric motors with a total output of 1001 horsepower. Its acceleration time to 100 km/h is an incredible 2.4 seconds. But there is always room for improvement. According to rumors, the Revuelto SVJ may appear next year. Lamborghini may introduce an even more powerful variant to arouse admiration. However, there are no details about it yet.
Polestar 5
The resignation of CEO Thomas Ingenlath may breathe new life into the Polestar brand. The company has had a few difficult years, but several new products are on the way. One of the most anticipated cars of the brand is the 5 sedan. The production Polestar 5, unveiled as a prototype more than two years ago, will debut in 2025. The electric sedan will have 884 horsepower and 900 newton meters of torque in the most powerful configuration with an estimated range of over 550 km. It is rumored to be able to charge in 10 minutes.
Porsche Electric Hypercar
Porsche's next limited edition hypercar will replace the battery-powered 918 Spyder and Carrera GT. Based on last year's Mission X concept, the hypercar could have up to 1,700 horsepower and accelerate to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.0 seconds (or less). Like any small-scale hypercar, this Porsche will be quite expensive. Since the Mercedes-AMG One is asked for $2.7 million and the Aston Martin Valkyrie costs more than $3.0 million, the Porsche electric hypercar is estimated at comparable amounts. The novelty will be available early next year.
Porsche 718 Boxster / Cayman EV
The Boxster and Cayman are going electric. First, Porsche stopped production of the duo with gasoline engines in Europe and then stopped production of ICE models in the United States. Both versions of the sports car will receive an electric vehicle counterpart in 2025 and then go on sale later that year or in early 2026. The Boxster and Cayman will share the same 800-volt architecture as the crossover and should support 270 kilowatts of charging.
Scout Electric SUV/Truck
Scout will show its first concept SUV and truck models on October 24, and they will go on sale in late 2025 or early 2026. These will be the first two models from the revived Scout brand, and both will be electric. The cars will have a special electric platform with all-wheel drive. Almost certainly, they will have a two-engine architecture, but modifications with three or even four powerplants are not excluded. The range is promised at 640 km and at least 300 horsepower.
Toyota Electric Sports Car
The Toyota FT-Se concept came as a pleasant surprise at last year's Japanese Motor Show. The stunning sports car concept contained hints of the MR2 in its design, and Toyota promised to start production in just a few years. Experts suggest that under favorable circumstances, we may see the production version of the FT-Se at the end of next year or in early 2026. The design should not deviate far from the original concept, and the powertrain will be all-electric with all-wheel drive. According to preliminary estimates, the sports car will be able to accelerate to 100 km/h in less than three seconds.
Toyota GR GT3 Sports Car
Toyota plans to offer customers a road version of its upcoming GR GT3 sports car. It is likely to wear a Lexus nameplate when it arrives in American showrooms, and it could replace the outdated RC. Spy videos and photos have shown the car to be a long, sleek coupe, very similar in design to the GR GT3 concept. It is unclear what will power Toyota's new sports car, but it looks like a V-8 engine will be hidden under the hood. The coupe may use an evolution of the atmospheric 5.2-liter V-8 engine with 500 horsepower that powers the Lexus RC F GT3 in the all-wheel drive version with the F designation.
Toyota FJ Cruiser
More than a year has passed since Toyota showed a teaser in the form of a silhouette of a new SUV. It may not be called the FJ Cruiser at its debut, but the new model is likely to expand the Land Cruiser lineup in some way. The cryptic announcement came during the Land Cruiser 2024 debut in August 2023, and the vehicle appears to have borrowed styling from the Compact Cruiser EV, with a square design and plenty of cladding. It is smaller than a standard Land Cruiser and has less ground clearance. It is likely to cost significantly less than the 2024 Land Cruiser, and it is possible that it will be equipped with hybrid engines.
