The Guardian has compiled a list of the best films of 2021. 29 movies made it to the list, including Cruella, The Father, A Quiet Place Part II, and Zack Snyder's Justice League.

The ranking was published on its official website. It also includes Chloe Zhao's film Nomadland, which won the 2021 Oscar.

  • Cruella

The movie takes place in London in the 1970s. A young seamstress Estella wants to conquer the British fashion world. She encounters the majestic Baroness Von Hellman, the head of a prestigious fashion house, which marks the birth of Cruella.

  • The Father

The main character is an elderly man named Anthony. He suffers from progressive dementia, so his daughter Anne decides to move into her father's apartment to take care of him. However, she has a hard time with the usual household chores because Anthony is convinced that she is doing all this just to take away his home. In the end, the man wonders who he is.

  • A Quiet Place Part II

In the story, the Abbott family continues to struggle to live in complete silence. After an encounter with creatures in their own home, they find themselves face to face with the horrors of the outside world. Stepping into the unknown, the family discovers that creatures that hunt sound are not the only threat outside the safety of their home.

  • Zack Snyder's Justice League

The events of the film develop after the death of Superman in the movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg unite in the Justice League to protect the world from the invasion of Steppenwolf and his army of parademons.

  • Nomadland

According to the story, a factory is being closed in the town of Empire. Many Americans are left without jobs, forced to leave their homes and look for some seasonal work to survive. Among these nomads is widow Fern, who had no reason to stay in the city. She exchanged her house for a trailer, and while traveling across the states, she found a real family of similar nomads.
