"We made an unfortunate technical error while printing the previous edition. We are correcting the mistake... I want to assure you that the problem has been solved, and the new textbooks are ready for use in schools. This incident reminded us how important it is to be accurate in all details. After all, textbooks are not just a learning tool. They are a source of knowledge for the future generation," Makarevych said.

As a reminder, a map of Ukraine without Crimea was found in 7th-grade Ukrainian language textbooks by Anastasiia Onatii and Taras Tkachuk. The discrepancy was noticed in the electronic version of the publication, but it was also in the printed books. The author of the textbook explained that image stocks began to post "convenient" maps of Ukraine with two versions of the images – with and without Crimea.

In connection with the incident, the chief designer was fired, and all those involved in the book's production were reprimanded with fines.

There were also other complaints about the same textbook. In particular, images of ordinary cards, tarot, handcuffs, a gun, and chips were found on the pages of the publication, which can negatively affect children's worldview. Moreover, the textbook does not contain enough Ukrainian context, instead, students are offered foreign publications for analysis.
