Terrible stench, an outbreak of intestinal infection and a complete scam: Russians are outraged about their vacation at their own resorts

Once again, Russians are complaining about their own resorts, but they are only complaining to the media, not to those who cause them discomfort. The Russian transportation system cannot cope with the rush of people who decided to vacation with their families at the end of summer, and vacationers themselves are afraid of not being able to send their children to school on September 2. This isn't the first beach season when Russian resorts have been hell, but people are ready to make the same mistakes over and over again.

They complained about the inability to get home by plane because of delayed flights. Weather conditions force Russian tourists to sit for 6-9 hours at airports. Another reason for dissatisfaction was an intestinal infection that turns a vacation on a sandy beach into a hospital room. All this is reported in the Russian media.

They received the most complaints from tourists in Sochi, one of the most popular resorts on the Black Sea. In addition to these troubles, Russian residents were faced with dirt and a terrible stench of water, both sea and tap water.

"The stench on the beaches here is really terrible. It comes from the water, so even the residents of the most expensive villas with private beaches are not spared from it," Russians comment, and the Russian media adds: "But it turns out that it is dirty not only on the beaches, but also on the cherished trains, for which at the end of August Russians with children are ready to pay 72 thousand rubles (32.5 thousand hryvnias) one way.

Interestingly, for such a huge sum of money, they are traveling in cars that are many times worse than the cheapest reserved seat.

"We are in a compartment, and the carriage is old, there is no hot water, there is a kettle but it does not work, the conductor runs to the next carriage for boiling water. The train manager who was called assures us that "boiling water is not provided on the way". There was no light in the car almost the whole way, and the air conditioners rarely worked. The handle on the compartment door was broken, and the repairman was unable to fix it because he had no tools, and in the middle of the trip it fell off," the Russians complain.

Moreover, the opportunity to get out of the city is already a luxury for tourists. Amid the shortage of tickets for both trains and airplanes, fraud has increased. As a result, people are not only left helpless to solve their problems, but also lose money.

"We even ordered a paid search, but the result is zero. We have already had several people we know deceived by intermediaries who promised to "get" a ticket for 50% of its price. Maybe they bought 690,000 tickets, but if they are cheating, then why, we are really ready to spend any money to get home," says a woman who was vacationing near Anapa.

It can be assumed that traveling by plane would be much more comfortable, but Russian residents are forced to stay at resorts for longer periods of time because they cannot leave Sochi. The weather conditions - wind and thunderstorms - turned the Russians' "happy" vacation into a living hell.

"Last year, we flew from here, with the same airline, around the same time. We sat in the airport for 12 hours, and this time we've only been sitting for five. Although the forecast is not good. My friends are mocking me: they say that the mice cried, but continued to eat the cactus - that I have again stepped on the same rake with the flight in the last days of August," admitted Maria, a resident of Moscow.

However, the problem is not only the inability to fly home from the resorts, but also intestinal infections, which prevent tourists from having a comfortable vacation. Interestingly, the city authorities are aware of the presence of bacteria in the water supply and in the sea, but they do not take any measures. According to the Russian media, more than 65% of tourists in Sochi fell ill.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote that a Russian woman went on vacation to Sochi and shared her impressions of the trip, which turned out to be "one of the worst in her life." While Russians are shouting about "decaying Europe" and boasting about their own analogues of luxury vacations, the truth is gradually coming to the surface.
