Tastier than Mimosa: hearty and budget fish salad for the New Year's table
If you want to make a salad with fish but don't like herring, for example, baked and smoked mackerel, tuna, and red fish are great alternatives. For the base, choose seasonal vegetables and herbs.
The FoodOboz editorial team shares a recipe for a delicious, hearty and spectacular Goldfish salad.
Ingredients:
- hot smoked fish - 1 pc
- potatoes - 3 pcs
- carrots - 2 pcs
- pickled cucumbers - 3 pcs
- red onion - 1 pc
- eggs - 3 pcs
- mayonnaise - to taste
- dill - a bunch
Method of preparation:
1. Boil the potatoes, carrots and eggs until tender. Peel the potatoes and grate them on a coarse grater.
2. Clean and peel the fish and cut into small pieces.
3. Cut the cucumbers into thin slices. Grate the boiled carrots on a medium grater.
4. Layer the salad: potatoes, mayonnaise, red onion, fish, mayonnaise, cucumbers, mayonnaise, carrots, mayonnaise and chopped dill. Refrigerate for two hours to let the salad set.
