Rest on the river bank

What could be better than a summer vacation? Of course, a summer vacation spent by the river. We'll tell you where to go next in Ukraine.

Stepashky, Vinnytsia region

The village is located on the picturesque banks of the Southern Buh. It is famous for its authentic atmosphere, clean beaches, and fishing spots. Here you can have a picnic or go boating.

There are also several bases and campsites on the coast:

  1. Cherepakha (Turtle). The complex is open all year round and offers comfortable wooden cottages with all the amenities: kitchen, toilet, heating system. There are also gazebos and barbecues. You can also take a catamaran ride or go on a quiet hunt.
  2. Gol&Wood. There are houses with private terraces for relaxation and barbecue, as well as parking areas and free Wi-Fi on site.
  3. Pivdennyi Buh (Southern Buh). The site is equipped with gazebos, swings and a tennis table.

How to get there. It takes about an hour and a half to get there by car from Vinnytsia. There are also bus routes from the nearest cities.

Letychiv, Khmelnytskyi region

The settlement is located on the banks of the Vovk River. Here you can sunbathe and go fishing. There are also several places for walking like Berezova Roshcha and Berezky. There is a hotel Leon in the settlement, and a hotel and restaurant complex Raiduha (Rainbow) in the neighboring village of Holovchytsi.

By the way, we recommend visiting the fish market. Here they sell silver carp, crucian carp, and bream, which were raised and caught in the Podil Reservoir. You can also find a variety of seafood, from raw shrimp to pickled mussels. Be sure to try the star dishes: Letychiv-style herring and carp in vegetables.

Do not forgt about the local castle of the same name. It was built in 1362. There is also the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Dominican Monastery. To admire the magnificent panoramas of the neighborhood, go to the bridge. It hangs near the Shchedrivska hydroelectric power station.

How to get there. It takes about 50 minutes to get there from Khmelnytskyi.

Nyrkiv, Ternopil region

The village is located near the Dzhuryn River. Its channel runs through the Pustelya tract. There are several springs here, the water from which is considered to be healing. There is also the largest man-made waterfall in the plains of Ukraine. It reaches 16 meters, and was created by the Turks back in 1620 by changing the course of a local stream. By the way, the waterfall was made not for beauty, but to make the enemies suffer from drought. Here you can swim and even pitch a tent.

The hallmarks of the village are the Chervonohrad Castle and the Church of the Ascension of the Virgin Mary.

How to get there. The journey from Ternopil or Chortkiv will take about 2 hours.

Velyka Slobidka, Khmelnytskyi region

The village is located on the banks of the Dniester and Muksha rivers in the Podilski Tovtry National Nature Park. The site is one of the seven natural wonders of Ukraine and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The local beach is covered with sand, sometimes with grass. It has a water attraction, playgrounds, as well as volleyball and football areas. There are also two recreation centers on the territory: the Dniester Riviera eco estate and the Dvi Riky villa.

How to get there. The road from Khmelnytskyi takes up to 2 hours by car.

Kolodiivka, Khmelnytskyi region

The village is located near the Dniester Reservoir. The place is too beautiful, but, unfortunately, with a sad story. During the construction of the hydroelectric power plant, the village of Bakota was flooded. Subsequently, a number of recreation centers and children's camps were built on the banks of the reservoir. Here you can rent a house on the water or a room in a boarding house or even set up a tent camp. There are also boat and catamaran rentals.

Be sure to visit the rock-cave monastery. Here you can listen to an interesting lecture about the shrine and buy souvenirs.

By the way, the local sunsets and sunrises are simply incredible. Thus, we recommend staying here for at least a day.

How to get there? The trip from Khmelnytskyi will take about 2 hours.

Khust, Zakarpattia region

The city is washed by Tysa, Khustets, Boroniavka and Rika rivers. The shores are dominated by pebble beaches with incredible scenery. Not far away, on a mountain of volcanic origin, there is a fortification of the XI-XVIII centuries. It used to serve as a guard post.

We recommend visiting the Kireshi tract. The unique valley of daffodils attracts thousands of tourists every year.

A number of hotels and recreation centers have been built in the village. In the neighboring village of Veliatyno, you can visit a sanatorium where thermal water treatment is offered. By the way, they are extracted from 100-meter deep wells.

How to get there. It will take about 3.5 hours to get there from Ivano-Frankivsk and 60 minutes from Mukachevo.
