Such cutlets will never be dry: how to cook them deliciously besides frying

If you simply fry cutlets in a pan, they can turn out quite dry. Therefore, it will be much better if you cook them in gravy. You can then pour the prepared sauce over mashed potatoes or any other side dish.

The idea of cooking cutlets with gravy was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Polina with the nickname polli cooking. Any minced meat will do.

Ingredients for cutlets:

  • minced meat - 400 g
  • eggs - 1 pc
  • dill/parsley
  • onion - 1 pc
  • breadcrumbs - 4 tbsp
  • spices for minced meat, salt

Ingredients for the gravy:

  • butter - 20 g
  • onion - 1 pc
  • mushrooms - 7-8 pcs
  • tomato paste - 2 tbsp
  • flour - 2 tbsp
  • paprika, black pepper, salt
  • water - 350-400 ml
  • herbs

Method of preparation:

1. Add the egg, finely chopped herbs, chopped/grated onion, breadcrumbs, salt, and spices to the minced meat and mix well.

2. Form small cutlets with wet hands.

3. Fry them in a well-heated pan until golden brown and remove from the heat.

4. Add butter to the pan.

5. Fry finely chopped onions and mushrooms and fry for 8-10 minutes.

6. Add tomato paste, flour, spices, and salt.

7. Stir and add water.

8. Add the cutlets to the gravy and simmer under the lid over medium heat for 15 minutes.

9. Sprinkle with herbs at the end.
