Stunning Kyiv: the most popular parks of the capital
Kyiv is beautiful at any time of the year even when all the leaves have fallen and the first snow is here. Thus, it's time to go for a walk! There are many natural attractions in the country's main city that are located very close to the center.
Landscape Alley
Earthen ramparts and stone walls used to protect Ancient Kyiv. They clearly outlined the borders of the state. Nowadays, a cozy park has been created on the site of the historic defenses. The recreation area was opened in 1982 to celebrate the 1500th anniversary of the capital.
It was designed by architect Abraham Miletsky. At first, the attraction served as an observation deck. A wooden staircase was built here, connecting Starokyivska Hill with Podil. Later, the structure was dismantled and another one was built.
Today, there are areas with Wi-Fi, comfortable benches, fountains, a monument to Prince Sviatoslav, children's climbing walls, and about 75 art objects.
By the way, you can find the National Museum of the History of Ukraine, a funicular, and St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery nearby.
Mariinskyi
It is located opposite the Verkhovna Rada building. The landscape-style park was founded in 1874. Empress Maria Alexandrovna wished to arrange the space of Palace Square. Until the mid-nineteenth century, provincial institutions stood here.
In 1900, the center was equipped with a large cast-iron fountain. And in 1917, several graves of participants in the revolutionary events were placed in the park. Unfortunately, most of them have not survived.
There are recreation areas and observation decks with views of the Dnipro River and the Left Bank.
Be sure to go to the Green Theater. It was built in 1949. Part of the building consists of two casemate walls of the former military structure of the New Pechersk Fortress.
Feofaniya
The youngest monument of landscape art in Kyiv. It is also a part of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine.
Since 2003, large-scale reconstruction of the recreation area has been carried out around the ponds. Back then, new engineering networks were installed, including sewerage and water supply. Gazebos, fountains and paved paths also appeared. In addition, you can find catering facilities a parking lot here.
We recommend visiting St. Panteleimon's Cathedral. Its construction lasted from 1905 to 1914. A part of the relics of Healer Saint Panteleimon are kept here.
Navodnytskyi
It is located in the Pechersk district of the city. It was founded in the early 1960s on the site of the right-bank spit.
In 1982, sculptures were installed here in honor of the founders of Kyiv - Kyi, Shchek, Khoryv, and Lybid.

Partisan Glory
One of the largest green spaces in Kyiv in the Darnytskyi district. Its area is almost 112 hectares. The attraction was founded in 1970 on the territory of a pine forest.
By the way, the center is divided into several functional areas: sports, children's, memorial, and recreation. There are also picnic areas, playgrounds for children and a petting zoo.
