Student from Vinnytsia created a smart backpack that weighs things and sets off an alarm if someone tries to steal them. Video
Vladyslav Prysiazhnyi, a student from Vinnytsia, has developed a backpack with an alarm, lights, and scales. If someone tries to steal things from it, the alarm will go off.
The student told the local TV channel Vita about his invention. He created the unique backpack at Vinnytsia National Technical University (VNTU).
Vladyslav's goal was to develop a modern and practical item at the same time.
Thanks to special sensors, the backpack can detect moisture penetration, such as from a spilled drink, rain or snow.
This way, documents and equipment can be saved from getting wet.
The backpack is controlled by a special app that can turn on and off the light built into the backpack.
"People have deeper backpacks because they need to carry more things with them. But the point is that since they are deep, you need to illuminate what's inside. People usually use a flashlight, so I thought it could be automated. Thus, the backpack has a built-in light," Vladyslav Prysiazhnyi says.
The backpack also has sensors capable of calculating the weight of things and reminding of forgotten gadgets.
"A lot of people now have back problems because they carry heavy things, especially schoolchildren and students. We take only the weight we need in advance, and as a result, we have a healthy back," the inventor explained.
It took Vladyslav three years to develop the invention. It will cost 1,500 UAH and can be integrated into any backpack.
