Stalker 2 developers address players after criticism: promise free content and bug fixes
Gamers all over the world were eagerly awaiting the release of the post-apocalyptic shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, which was postponed several times. The game, developed by the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World, topped the Steam sales charts and even took the lead among paid projects, becoming the second in the overall list after Counter-Strike 2.
However, it was not without bugs. The opinions of critics and users are divided: some consider the game a unique and exciting project and are ready to turn a blind eye to certain mistakes, while others emphasize the "crudeness" of the development and numerous technical flaws. The GSC Game World team responded to the criticism.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has long been a cult game in the gaming world. Many people were fascinated by the events in the post-apocalyptic alternative reality of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. The radiation created natural anomalies and mutants, so the rich plot and the special atmosphere of the world's decline made the game very popular.
The joy of the long-awaited release was somewhat overshadowed by gamers' reports of bugs and errors.
The developers responded to the complaints. The official statement from the GSC Game World team says that users are promised free content and bug fixes.
GSC Game World emphasized that they had never developed a project of this size before.
"That being said, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is a large-scale game. We understand that there may still be rough edges in a game like this. We promise to be there for you, to listen to your feedback, and to fix any issues that need our attention as soon as possible," the developers said.
In the first few days after the release, the team will conduct hotfixes, and then move on to larger updates that mean continuous improvements.
"There will also be free in-game content. We will share the plan for its release a little later, in December," the developers promised.
At the same time, GSC Game World noted that they have ambitious plans for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe.
By the way, as OBOZ.UA told, the game will be exclusive for PC and Xbox Series X console and its junior version Xbox Series S, so PS5 players will have to wait a little longer. It is rumored that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl will be released on PlayStation in 2025.
