The Netflix streaming platform has confirmed rumors that the second season of the acclaimed Squid Game will appear in 2024. A short teaser of the South Korean project was shown in a selection of upcoming announcements.
In addition, the studio released three stills from the new season, which can be used to draw certain conclusions. The videos and photos were posted on Netflix's Instagram.
"Here's a first look at the second season of Squid Game, coming out this year," the description reads.
The video shows a mysterious voice on the phone promising Gi-hun, who is rumored to be the main character of the season again, that he will "regret his choice." In response, the surviving player claims that he will find his offender, no matter what it takes.
The video cuts off at this point, and the photos hint at a new round of the bloody game as the viewers are shown an invitation card with a triangle, square, and circle.
It should be noted that Squid Game became the biggest television premiere in Netflix's history. The series aired in September 2021, and viewers watched it for more than 1.65 billion hours.
