Spanish village with white houses has become a new sensation for tourists

The Spanish village of Casares, located in the picturesque Andalusia, has won the title of the most beautiful in the region. This place impresses with its authentic appearance and rich history.

Among almost 5000 voters on the Noradoa portal, the village received 4922 votes, leaving behind 99 other participants in the ranking. Even National Geographic included it in the list of the 100 most beautiful cities in Spain, noting the special architectural style and picturesque views.

Casares, often referred to as the "cradle of Andalusia," is located on a hillside. Its narrow streets snake through whitewashed houses, creating a sense of a fairy tale. An outstanding historical monument is the Casares Castle, built in the XIII century during the Moorish rule. This fortress served as a strategic point for the defense of the Nasrid kingdom.

No less interesting is the Iglesia de la Encarnación church, which appeared in the 17th century. Its bell tower in the Mudejar style is an example of the unique architecture of that era. All these objects harmoniously fit into the picturesque panorama that local viewpoints offer to tourists.

For lovers of natural recreation, Casares offers Baños de la Hedionda, a Roman resort with sulfuric waters known for their healing properties. Bathing in these thermal springs is free of charge, although during the season from June to September, a reservation is required.

Casares is just a 40-minute drive from the popular resort town of Marbella. This makes it an ideal place for those who want to feel the true atmosphere of Andalusia while enjoying historical monuments and incredible nature.
