SpaceX has resumed launches of its Falcon 9 reusable boosters despite an ongoing investigation by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) into the recent rocket explosion during landing. The American company launched two spacecraft one after the other within 65 minutes and landed them successfully.

The Falcon 9 launches took off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida and Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. The rockets launched 42 Starlink Internet satellites into orbit, Space.com reports.

"Great job by the SpaceX team," wrote CEO Elon Musk after the two successful missions.

The rocket launches took place a day after SpaceX received permission from the Federal Aviation Administration to resume Falcon 9 launches. Despite the fact that the FAA continues to investigate the catastrophic landing of the launch vehicle on August 28.

As a reminder, the rocket, numbered B1062, launched 21 Starlink satellites into orbit, but at the final stage of its mission, after landing on the A Shortfall of Gravitas unmanned ship in the Atlantic Ocean, it suddenly burst into flames and overturned.

After the crash, the Federal Aviation Administration suspended the Falcon 9 rocket. However, when SpaceX requested a return to flight, the FAA granted the company permission the very next day.

"The SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle may return to flight while the overall investigation of the anomaly during the Starlink Group 8-6 mission remains open, provided that all other license requirements are met," FAA officials said.

SpaceX is also preparing to launch its historic first private spacewalk. This crewed flight, called Polaris Dawn, has already been postponed three times due to technical issues and unfavorable weather conditions. However, billionaire entrepreneur Jared Isaacson, who is financing the mission, said he was ready to wait for the right time to launch for safety reasons.
