"Shakhtar" bought a "future world star" for 15 million euros
Kevin, a 21-year-old midfielder of Brazilian side Palmeiras, will continue his career at Shakhtar Donetsk. "On Friday, January 19, the Miners announced the first newcomer to the winter transfer window, signing a five-year deal with the promising player.
This is stated on the official website of the Orange and Blacks. The Ukrainian champions' CEO Serhiy Palkin said that the total amount of the deal with the Brazilians was 15 million euros – 12 of which Shakhtar will pay in installments over two years, and three more are provided as bonuses.
"I am glad that we managed to complete this transfer. It is important for the team, the club, and Ukrainian football. Kevin is a young, very gifted player who has very great prospects. He is a footballer with great speed, incredible dribbling, high football intelligence, a quality pass, and a good shot. And these are exactly the qualities that are fully in line with Shakhtar's playing philosophy. We are buying a bright player, a future world star for 12 million and an additional possible three million in bonuses," Palkin said.
Last season, Kevin excelled in the São Paulo Youth Cup, where he scored five goals and provided five assists in eight matches. He also has seven matches in the Brazilian championship.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, according to media reports, Shakhtar Donetsk refused to sell Ukrainian national team player Heorhiy Sudakov for 40 million euros.
