The leader's fiasco: results of the 5th stage of the Biathlon World Cup in women's sprint
Biathlon World Cup overall leader Justine Braisaz-Bouchet showed the worst result of the season and did not even make it into the top ten in the sprint race at the fifth stage of the competition in Ruhpolding, Germany. The 27-year-old athlete, who ranks first in the ranking with 592 points, finished only 12th.
The Frenchwoman made one miss at each of the two firing lines and covered the 7.5 kilometer course in 20 minutes and 20 seconds. This is only 2.5 seconds better than the result of Ukrainian Yulia Dzhyma, who finished after Braisaz-Bouchet. Moreover, our compatriot hit all 10 targets.

For the representative of the French national team, the current result is absolutely disastrous. Before that, in individual races, she always made it to the flower ceremony without falling below fifth place.
Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold of Norway, Braisaz-Bouchet's main pursuer in the overall standings, won the sprint. Mona Brorsson of Sweden sensationally took the silver medal, while the famous Italian Lisa Vittozzi finished the race in third place.
