The family said Randall chose to keep his battle with ALS private, and "those in his family who cared for him did everything they could to honor his request."
"We are eternally grateful to the tireless doctors who fought this disease with us and the amazing nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their families to be with us," the family added.
Bullock met Randall in 2015 when he was photographing her son Louis' birthday. The actress did not openly seek marriage after she divorced TV host Jesse Gregory James in 2010. However, the star of the films Miss Congeniality, Confessions, Ocean's Eight, and others literally had a real family with the photographer. They rarely appeared together in public, but the man sometimes accompanied the star at the premieres of her films and other social events.
