Samsung will release a smartphone with a triple screen: details are known
After the success of the Galaxy Flip foldable smartphone, the South Korean technology corporation Samsung seems to have decided to develop this direction further. This is evidenced by the teaser of the next product in this line - a foldable smartphone with a triple screen.
According to Gizmo China, the silhouette of the device was shown at the recent Galaxy S25 Unpacked event. However, there are still very few details about the upcoming novelty and they come mostly from insiders.
Thus, on the Korean Naver platform, an informant under the nickname yeux1122 reported that the next foldable smartphone will be called Galaxy G Fold. According to this leak, the device may be released in the third quarter of 2025. In this case, it will become one of Samsung's most ambitious foldable gadget projects to date.
As for the specifications, the same leak states that the Galaxy G Fold is likely to be equipped with a 9.96-inch display, which is almost 30% larger than the 7.6-inch panel of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. When folded, the device will reportedly measure 6.54 inches, making it similar in height to conventional monoblock smartphones.
According to rumors, the weight of the device will be comparable to the world's first gadget that can be folded three times - Huawei's Mate XT. However, the new Samsung will be somewhat thicker, because it will be folded inward. That is, both sides of the screen will be wrapped to the center. In this way, the manufacturer aims to provide better screen protection. The same Mate XT has an S-shaped bend, which leaves part of the screen vulnerable.
It is also reported that Samsung is developing a new type of display and protective film specifically for the new device to further improve its durability. Given the complexities associated with the production of such a gadget, it is expected that production volumes will be limited, and the device may be positioned as an experimental premium offering rather than a major flagship.
Although some reports initially predicted the launch of Samsung's triple-folding smartphone in 2026, display analyst Ross Young noted that the company may release the Galaxy G Fold earlier. Roughly, at the end of 2025, along with Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7.
As for prices, there is no exact data yet. However, in their forecasts, analysts focus on Huawei's Mate XT, which started at a price of about $2,800. Its likely competitor from Samsung is also rumored to cost more than $2000.
