S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on Steam was played by more than 113 thousand people simultaneously: the game is in the top 10 worldwide

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which has been long awaited by gamers around the world, has gained an impressive start on the Steam platform. According to SteamDB, at the time of launch, more than 113 thousand people were playing the project on Steam at the same time, which was one of the highest results among modern releases.

This figure is even more impressive when you consider that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is also available through Game Pass, so Steam only shows online players, while it is not yet known how many people played the downloaded version.

The peak occurred at 22 hours in Kyiv, when more than 113 thousand people were playing simultaneously:

Within a few hours of its launch, the new project from the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World was among the top 10 games by the number of players. In terms of the number of simultaneous users, STALKER 2 has overtaken such big hits as Far Cry 5, Fallout 76, and Red Dead Redemption 2. Players actively admire the atmosphere of the game, its unsurpassed open world filled with dangers and mysteries, which further increases interest in the product.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was long-awaited not only because of its historical importance for the Ukrainian gaming industry, but also because of the long wait for the series' fans. The first announcement of the game took place back in 2010, but the project has undergone several delays and cancellations, which made its release especially significant. In particular, development was stopped after the outbreak of a full-scale war in Ukraine in 2022.

It is worth recalling that the release of the game caused a significant increase in Internet traffic in Ukraine, which led to a slowdown in Internet speed in some regions. ISPs reported that the peak load on their channels reached critical levels, causing users to experience a deterioration in connection quality.

Despite the difficulties, the game release itself was successful. It is available for Xbox Series X and Windows PC users. The game's peculiarity is its localization, which, although changed due to political circumstances, still retained the Ukrainian context. The developers abandoned the Russian-language voice acting but left subtitles for players from different countries.

It is expected that with the release of the game on consoles and PC in the coming weeks, the number of players will only grow as fans continue to discover new opportunities in Heart of Chornobyl. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 promises to be one of the biggest games of 2024, able to attract attention not only in Ukraine but also abroad.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl - the full passage of the main plot of the game is designed to take about 40 hours. To play comfortably, the player's computer must have 32 GB of RAM and an additional 160 GB of disk space. A powerful video card and processor are also required. The price ranges from 1399 UAH to 2549 UAH.
