On Monday, November 18, Russian occupation forces shelled a residential area of Kostiantynivka with artillery. The attack killed two civilians, a woman and a man.
Two more people were wounded. This was reported by the head of the Donetsk regional military administration Vadym Filashkin and the Office of the Prosecutor General.
The strike in the town caused serious damage: the facades of several high-rise buildings and cars parked nearby were damaged.
"Russians shelled Kostiantynivka with cannon artillery, killing 2 people and wounding 2 others, damaging 2 high-rise buildings and 2 cars," the statement said.
The Prosecutor General's Office clarified that an elderly man and woman were wounded. They were provided with medical assistance. The victims were outside during the attack.
Under the procedural supervision of the Kostiantyniv District Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation was initiated in the criminal proceedings over a war crime (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Prosecutors are taking all possible and appropriate measures to document war crimes committed by representatives of the Russian armed forces.
In addition, another 1 person was killed by Russians in Siversk today – the city also came under artillery fire.
"Do not turn yourselves into targets for the Russians! Evacuate in time!" emphasized Filashkin.
As a reminder, on the afternoon of November 18, Russian terrorist forces struck the civilian infrastructure of Odesa with ballistic missiles. Residential buildings in the city were damaged, and ten people were killed, including doctors, police officers, and civilians. Another 43 people were injured.
