Russia's strikes on Ukraine's power grid in March damaged or destroyed 80% of DTEK's thermal generation capacity available before the largest attack on the grid on March 22. 5 out of 6 thermal power plants were damaged, and some units were almost completely destroyed.

This was reported by DTEK's Executive Director Dmytro Sakharuk, Interfax reports. "Yesterday (March 29) was the second largest attack on our facilities, the largest one occurred on March 22. The consequences of these two attacks are sadly 'effective'. A lot of generation and distribution facilities were damaged. We have 5 out of 6 thermal power plants damaged very badly, some units are almost completely destroyed, some partially," Sakharuk said on the national TV marathon "United News" on Saturday.

Sakharuk noted that in March, Russia launched more than ten attacks on DTEK's facilities. Andriy Hota, chairman of the supervisory board of Centrenergo, said that the company's Zmiivska TPP in Kharkiv region was completely destroyed by Russian attacks, and will be restored in the future, but the timing and cost of this restoration are still unknown.

In Ukraine, on March 30, power outage schedules were introduced in Kharkiv region. At the same time, all restrictions were lifted in Odesa region, although the situation remains difficult. As reported on the websites of energy companies, the situation in the energy sector remains difficult, with most problems in Kharkiv region. The Ministry of Energy notes that emergency shutdown schedules have been canceled in six regions, and hourly electricity restrictions are applied only in Kharkiv region; no electricity shortages are expected.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Russia has again attacked Ukrainian energy facilities with drones. Emergency power outages have been introduced in Odesa and Odesa region – the schedules are not in effect, and the operation of public electric transport has been suspended. The schedules are applied in Kharkiv and Kharkiv region for consumers who are already connected to the grid after the previous shelling.
