On Saturday afternoon, June 29, Russian occupation forces attacked the town of Vilniansk in Zaporizhzhia district. At least seven people were killed as a result of another war crime by theinvaders.

More than ten more were injured.This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov.

"Russians attacked the town of Vilniansk in Zaporizhzhia district. Preliminarily, 6 civilians were killed and 8 more were wounded," he said in a statement.

Fedorov said that the attack damaged a critical infrastructure facility, a shop and residential buildings.

"We are promptly helping the injured people. We will not forgive the enemy!" he added.

Later, Fedorov clarified that the enemy killed 7 people in Vilniansk, Zaporizhzhia region. Two children are among them.

The number of wounded increased to 10 people.

"Russia is a terrorist country. We will never forgive it. We must stop it," he said.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the invaders' insidious attack and the killing of civilians.

"Seven people, including two children, were killed by a Russian missile strike in Zaporizhzhia region. My condolences to all those who lost their loved ones. As of now, we know about eleven wounded, three of them are children. All services are on the ground and will help as much as possible. Unfortunately, the number of victims may still increase," he said.

The Head of State emphasized that our cities and communities suffer from such Russian strikes every day .

"But there are ways to overcome it: to destroy terrorists where they are, to destroy Russian missile launchers, to provide long-range missiles and modern air defense systems to Ukraine. I am grateful to all partners who are helping. And the decisions we need must be accelerated. Any delay in decisions in this war means loss of human lives," he added.

Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin clarified that the enemy fired two missiles.

"This is a war crime. Prosecutors and law enforcement officers are working on the spot. Russian war criminals will be punished. The only effective way to stop the aggressor is to strengthen Ukraine's defense with weapons and air defense. Russia is a terrorist country that understands force only. A strong Ukrainian army means protection from such crimes not only for Ukraine but for the entire civilized world," he emphasized.

Emergency services and law enforcement officers are working at the scene to record another war crime committed by the Russian Federation. A pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) has been initiated.

Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko noted that the occupiers were targeting civilians in a cynical and cruel manner, as always, namely in the middle of a weekend.

As of 20:15, 7 people were killed, including 2 children. Another 18 people, including 4 children, were injured.

"As a result of the shelling, commercial premises, households and vehicles caught fire. A civilian infrastructure facility was damaged. Thanks to the prompt response of the State Emergency Service, all fires have been extinguished," he said.

The rescuers are conducting a search and rescue operation.

Fedorov said he had visited the impact site and held a meeting. All services are working, doctors are providing assistance.

"Vilniansk. A small but town in Zaporizhzhia region that was so cozy before the full-scale invasion. For more than two years now, Volniansk and its residents have been suffering from constant Russian shelling. And today is no exception... Unfortunately. It hit the center of the city," he said.

The head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration clarified that there is information about 7 dead residents. 20 people were treated in the hospital. 7 people stay in the hospital. Of these, 4 adults and 1 child are in serious condition.

The State Emergency Service reported that rescuers eliminated the fire of several vehicles.

The headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of the shelling and SES mobile operational group are working at the site.

As of 21.20, the number of people injured in the hostile attack increased to 23, including 8 children. 7 people were killed, including 2 children.

It is noteworthy that these explosions were heard in the regional center. According to preliminary data, the enemy used ballistic missiles.

The State Emergency Service clarified that at 19:46, emergency workers extinguished the fire of buildings and cars at the site of enemy strikes in the city of Volniansk. The fire was extinguished in two places at the same time: a two-story building and an extension, in addition to nearby cars, on an area of 300 square meters and two one-story buildings on an area of 150 square meters. The search and rescue operations have been completed.

The State Emergency Service deployed 50 rescuers and 9 vehicles to eliminate the consequences of the shelling.
