On the night of Sunday, September 1, the aggressor country of Russia complained of a massive drone attack. They were flying toward the Russian capital Moscow, and explosions were also reported in Tula, Kursk, Lipetsk, Voronezh, Ryazan, and Bryansk regions.

Local authorities traditionally reported on air defense operations and allegedly downed targets. Meanwhile, the Russians published footage of the "bavovna".

Moscow Mayor Sobyanin said that Russian air defense allegedly shot down three UAVs flying toward the Russian capital. One of them, he said, was shot down over Podolsk, the other in the Stupino urban district.

"According to preliminary data, there is no damage or casualties at the site of the crash. Emergency services are working at the scene," the mayor wrote.

Several flights were delayed at Domodedovo and Vnukovo airports, eyewitnesses reported. Landings were canceled and passengers were taken off the planes.

Later, Sobyanin revealed that the UAVs were trying to attack a Moscow oil refinery. According to him, the drone was allegedly destroyed near the refinery, so "there was no damage or casualties."

Despite the statements of the Moscow mayor, a huge column of black smoke rose in the area of the refinery after the explosions.

After a while, the mayor of Moscow revealed that one downed UAV had damaged a separate technical room of the refinery.
