Russia attacks Ukraine with drones and missiles overnight: debris falls in Kyiv, there are hits in Poltava and Sumy regions

On the night of Friday to Saturday, July 20, Russian occupation forces shelled Poltava region, causing hits and damage to civilian infrastructure. During the night attack, the occupiers also targeted Kyiv, and the wreckage of a downed kamikaze drone was seen falling in one of the capital's districts.

This was reported by the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Filip Pronin and the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Serhiy Popko. And in Sumy region, the invaders attacked a power facility, the RMA said.

Thus, according to the KMA, Kyiv came under drone attack at night. Debris was recorded falling in one of the city's districts.

"As a result of tonight's air attack on Kyiv by a UAV in the Solomyanskyi district of the capital, certain fragments of an enemy drone were preliminarily recorded falling. The information is being verified. At the moment, there is no information on damage or casualties," Popko said at 05:58.

A hit was recorded in Poltava region. According to Pronin, it occurred in Poltava district, and information about the victims was being clarified at the time of reporting.

In addition, civilian infrastructure was damaged in Myrhorod district as a result of the aggressor's attack. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.

"Do not ignore the air raid alarms! Be sure to stay in shelters at this time. Take care of yourself and your loved ones," the RMA urged.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, an enemy missile was also flying in the direction of Poltava region through Kharkiv region during the air raid.

The military also reported a group of Shahed UAVs in the direction of Myrhorod and one enemy attack drone near Poltava. Air defense forces were shooting them down, explosions were heard.

Meanwhile, in Sumy region, Russians hit an energy facility.

"On the night of July 20, the enemy attacked the energy infrastructure facility in Konotop district using a Shahed UAV. All necessary services are working at the site. Emergency repair work is underway," the statement said.

The Sumy Regional Military Administration added that one of the Russian drones was destroyed by air defense forces.

As reported, on November 19, Russian occupation forces shelled the Velykopysarivska community of the Okhtyrka district in the Sumy region. The invaders killed one civilian and injured another.
