"Rat garden" in the center of Ivano-Frankivsk: a colony of rodents settled in a tree

The Ivano-Frankivsk edition of Galka If. UA reported that residents discovered a huge colony of rats in the city center. The rodents have settled in a tree, are not afraid of anyone, and calmly jump along the branches in broad daylight.

A "rat garden" in the center of Ivano-Frankivsk was discovered by its resident Maksym Sych and posted a video on Facebook.

According to the author of the video, the rats settled in a tree on the territory of a building abandoned 10 years ago. It is located near the Promprylad plant (Academician Sakharov Street).

"It's not a joke, these are real rats, on the tree of a huge unfinished building in the city center. It has been abandoned for more than 10 years next to Prompryladom," the post reads.

Local authorities responded to Maksym's post. In particular, Mykhailo Smushak, Deputy Mayor and Director of the Department of Infrastructure, Housing and Communal Policy, commented on the situation and said that the owners of the site were responsible for rodent control.

He also stated that the municipal inspection was obliged to respond to the outrage and issue an order to the owner. In general, according to the official, Ivano-Frankivsk regularly carries out deratization measures at municipal facilities.
