Raised by four positions: what place took the national team of Ukraine in the final ranking of FIFA for 2023

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has released the latest national team rankings for this year. The Ukrainian team finished 2023 four positions higher than when it started.

This is stated on the official FIFA website. The Ukrainians took 22nd place and 12th place among European teams. The Blue and Yellows have 1553.35 points. Less than 12 points separate our compatriots from Iran, which is ranked one line higher.

Argentina remains the strongest team according to the FIFA rankings. It is ahead of France and England. The Belgians, our team's possible rivals at Euro 2024, are in fourth place, followed by the Brazilians. Next are the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Italy, and the Croats round out the top 10.

Other likely opponents of Ukraine in the group stage of next year's European Championships, Romania and Slovakia, are ranked 43rd and 45th, respectively.

The Blue and Yellows have played eight official matches this year, winning four, drawing two and losing two. The goal difference is 11-8. Our team also played three sparring matches, beating English side Brentford and Polish side Lechia, and also parting ways with the German national team.

We would like to remind you that our national team will play butt matches for the right to play at the continental championship in Germany in March. In the semifinals of the playoffs, the Blue and Yellows will play Bosnia and Herzegovina, and if they win, they will compete for a ticket to the Euros with the winner of the Israel-Iceland match.
