Quite modest options: what car brands millionaires choose most often
What image comes to mind when you hear the word "millionaire"? Most likely, it will include some ultra-expensive car driving through the streets of a night city.
However, the reality is very different from stereotypes. According to GoBankingRates, citing personal finance guru Dave Ramsey, supercars as status symbols seem to be a thing of the past. More and more wealthy people prefer relatively inexpensive but reliable cars.
A study by Experian Automotive found that 61% of US households with annual earnings of more than $250,000 do not drive luxury brands. Now wealthy people give preference to models of these manufacturers. Given the rise in car prices, these brands no longer seem so popular.
Toyota
According to the latest data, the average cost of cars of the popular Japanese brand increased in the United States to $38,198 in the second quarter of fiscal year 2024. This makes these reliable cars quite an expensive purchase.
Honda
One of Toyota's cheapest SUVs is the HR-V LX front-wheel drive crossover, which has a starting price of about $25,000 in the US, while Honda's cheapest is the Civic Sport sedan, which will cost $26,000.
Ford
To purchase a 2024 F-150 XL pickup truck, you will have to pay $36,570.
Lexus
The price for the brand new Lexus ES 2024 starts at $43,190 and can reach $53,480 depending on the configuration and options.
Subaru
The Subaru Crosstrek, the manufacturer's best-selling car, has been completely redesigned for 2024 and now costs from $24,995.
BMW
The 2024 BMW 3 Series, which is called "the ultimate compact luxury sedan," is now priced from $44,500.
Acura
The price of the 2024 Acura MDX ranges from $50,150 to $73,800 for buyers in the United States.
Hyundai
Truly inexpensive cars are hard to come by in 2024, as the average new car price is approaching $50,000, according to Motor Trend. A fully equipped Hyundai Venue can be bought for about half that amount.
Lincoln
Currently, the price of the Lincoln Aviator 2024 ranges from $53,340 to $80,725 in the United States. However, experts do not advise choosing the best option, as the luxurious interior is no longer considered a worthy investment. It is better to pay attention to the more competitive Reserve package.
Buick
The all-new 2024 Buick Envista is a small SUV aimed at young urban dwellers. It is also the cheapest new Buick, with prices starting at $22,400.
