Propagandists almost caught themselves: fake news about a "Ukrainian strike" on Belgorod disgraced them. Photo fact

Kremlin public twice "corrected" the picture with the direction of the strike

Kremlin propagandists have gotten caught up in their own lies, trying to blame Ukraine for the shelling of a ten-story building in Belgorod. They twice "corrected" the direction of the attack in a picture reposted by Kremlin mouthpiece Vladimir Solovyov.

The Telegram channel  "ToBeOr" drew attention to this. According to its authors, the Kremlin's War on Fakes public service has twice edited the image with the direction of the attack on a residential building in Belgorod.

Initially, the propagandists published the image with the real place of arrival and a plausible northeast direction - from the Russian Federation, not Ukraine.

However, apparently, realizing that they had posted an inconvenient truth, they urgently had to edit the image and indicate a new place of arrival - the southeastern side of the house, to make it look like it was from Ukraine, the channel writes.

"But, apparently, realizing that they had completely "cheated" with the place of arrival, because it is clearly visible where they arrived, they edited the picture again, indicating the eastern side of the house, which is closer to the place of arrival, but can still be twisted as if the arrival was from Ukraine. In the war against fake news, the main thing is not to expose yourself," the publication says.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, around 11:40 a.m., an explosion occurred in the Russian city of Belgorod, which resulted in the collapse of an entire entrance of a ten-story building on Shchorsa Street. Residents were evacuated due to the threat of the entire building collapsing, and Russian media reported 30 injuries.

The Russian Defense Ministry claims that an air defense system was allegedly activated in Belgorod, resulting in a fragment of a Tochka-U missile hitting a residential building.

According to Andriy Kovalenko, head of the National Security and Defense Council's Center for Political Analysis, the house in Belgorod could have been blown up as a provocation, as CCTV footage shows that the explosion probably occurred inside the house.
