Presented in October: what will the new Volkswagen Tayron look like
The world of cars and technology does not stand still. It is constantly evolving, offering customers new and innovative models.
Recently, Volkswagen officially announced that a new seven-seater SUV Tayron. Auto Express told us what was known about it before the presentation.
The new spacious seven-seater Volkswagen Tayron will be presented on October 9. This model will replace the VW Tiguan Allspace and will compete with such large SUVs as the Kia Sorento and Skoda Kodiaq.
Design
For European motorists, the Tayron name may be new, but Volkswagen has been using it for several years in the Chinese market. The company has confirmed that this model will soon appear in local showrooms and shared an image of the car's rear end with a full-width light bar and an illuminated VW logo.
However, full-fledged photos of the new car have already appeared online. It has a modern styling with a wide front grille and distinctive tail lamps. The Tayron will also receive a sporty R-Line version with a more aggressive front bumper and larger air intakes with a glossy black finish.
Since the Tayron can accommodate up to 7 passengers, it will be quite long. Its length is expected to exceed 4.7 meters, and the wheelbase will be almost 2.8 meters. It is also worth noting that the rear doors of the model have been lengthened to provide convenient access to the second and third rows of seats.
Interior
The interior of the Tayron is likely to be similar to that of the Tiguan. The car is expected to get a 10.25-inch digital driver display and a 12.9-inch center touchscreen as standard. An even larger 15-inch screen will also be available as an option. The cabin will feature several physical buttons along with touchscreen controls for the climate system, which will be backlit for easy use in the dark.
Engines
The Tayron will be based on the MQB Evo platform, which is also used by the Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq. This means that a wide range of engines will be available to future buyers, including diesel and gasoline options with mild hybrids, as well as a plug-in hybrid.
Price
As for prices, the Volkswagen Tayron is expected to start at $50,000.
