"Only found in Russia": Russian football legend who campaigned for "zeroing Putin" ridiculed online

CSKA Moscow goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev called Russia the best country in the world and also noted that he has nothing to do abroad. These words of the former Russian national team player provoked an ironic reaction from football fans.

"I spent my entire career at CSKA because it's been my love since childhood. Everything I love is connected to my homeland, Russia, and even on vacation I spend 80% of my time at home. I love the snow. Many people dreamed of going abroad, but I never dreamed of it. I wouldn't trade our birches for anything, and mushrooms are our everything," Akinfeev said in an interview with the propaganda news agency TASS.

Readers of the Sports.ru portal took a swipe at the 2008 European Championship bronze medalist. They noted that no one is waiting for Akinfeev to go to Europe and reminded him that the footballer campaigned for constitutional amendments and the nullification of dictator Vladimir Putin's term.
