Only a few can solve it: a cunning math puzzle for geniuses
Many people associate math with dry formulas and complex calculations. However, math puzzles are special tasks that can develop logical thinking. These tests often require finding non-standard solutions, considering situations from different perspectives, and using logic to draw correct conclusions. By solving such puzzles, we learn to analyze information correctly, highlight important details, and find patterns.
An interesting one is gaining popularity online. Try to solve the example: 3x3-3÷3+3.
Math puzzles stimulate the brain by actively engaging functions such as memory, attention, reaction time, and information processing. Solving such problems regularly trains cognitive abilities, helping to improve mental performance.
It is worth taking a step-by-step approach to solving it, analyzing the conditions, and making several calculations.
The example seems simple - there are no large numbers or complicated formulas. The only problem is to determine the right order of priority.
The post, which appeared on a Facebook page last July, went viral and received more than 1.7 million likes.
At first glance, you can simply try to solve the problem step by step:
- 3х3 = 9
- 9-3 = 6
- 6÷3 = 2
- 2+3 = 5
5 is the most popular answer, but it is wrong.
To solve the mathematical equation correctly, you need to remember the order of arithmetic operations.
The answer
Do the multiplication and division first: 3x3 = 9 and 3÷3 = 1.
Next step: 9 -1 =8.
And finally: 8+3 = 11.
The correct answer is 11.
