Oil depot in Rostov region attacked by DIU drones: fire continues
On the night of August 18, the oil depot of the Kavkaz plant near Proletarsk, Rostov region, Russia, was hit by Ukrainian-made intelligence drones. A fire is still burning there.
The facility worked for the enemy military-industrial complex and supported the activities of the Russian occupation forces. OBOZ.UA learned about this from its own sources.
"According to local telegram channels, eyewitnesses heard at least three explosions in the area of the facility, followed by the ignition of fuel tanks. Currently, they are still trying to extinguish the fire at the facility, " the source said, adding that the detailed results of the damage to the oil depot are currently being clarified.
At 20:00 on Sunday, Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev admitted that firefighting was still ongoing. The Russians used three fire trains.
"A high alert regime has been introduced in the Proletarsky district. According to experts, there is no threat of the fire spreading to residential buildings and neighboring objects," Golubev reported.
The strike was previously confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They noted that the plant stored oil and oil products that were also supplied to the Russian occupation army.
"The task was accomplished by the forces and means of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine in cooperation with the Armed Forces and other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Measures to undermine the military and economic potential of the Russian Federation continue. To be continued," the General Staff summarized.

- On the night of August 14, the SSU, together with the DIU and the Defense Forces, carried out a large-scale attack on Russian airfields. Four enemy military airfields on the territory of the Russian Federation were hit.
- New satellite photos of the Savasleyka airfield of the Russian occupation forces in the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia, which was attacked by Ukrainian drones on August 14, have been published online. The photos show traces of fires.
