In Lipetsk region, according to the governor Igor Artamonov, there was a "UAV attack threat". He noted that the target of the drones there was "the infrastructure in the industrial zone of Lipetsk."

"One object was seen in the sky, there was no threat of attacking a residential area. It was decided not to turn on the warning system in the city and to evacuate the area where the UAV crashed only," the official said.

Voronezh region

Voronezh also did not sleep that night. Explosions were heard there. According to the governor, Alexander Gusev, Russian Air Defense Forces allegedly shot down 4 drones.

"A private house caught fire on the territory of one of the private households. Emergency services are working at the scene. The fire has been localized. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties. The danger of a UAV attack in the region is ongoing," the official said.

A video allegedly from the scene of a fire in the Voronezh region after a UAV attack has been posted online. Judging by the footage, an oil refinery or an oil storage facility was hit. There is no confirmation of the video's authenticity.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that 8 Ukrainian drones were destroyed across the country overnight: three over the territory of Kursk region; two over the territory of Belgorod region; two over the territory of Voronezh region and one over the territory of Smolensk region.

Earlier, in the evening of April 23, explosions were heard in Chernyansky district of the Belgorod region. After that, a strong fire broke out near the village of Volokonovka.

Earlier, it was reported that according to Bloomberg, oil refining at Russian refineries in April 2024 fell to almost a one-year low. Refineries produced only 5.23 million barrels per day, which is almost the lowest level since May 2023. The key reason for the decline was the repair of refineries that suffered from SSU drone attacks.
