The night of July 3 turned out to be a stressful one for the residents of Novorossiysk, located in the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation. For an hour and a half, the city shook with explosions: Russian air defense was reported working.

According to the local authorities, the occupiers were repelling an attack on the Novorossiysk port by marine drones. It was reported by local channels and the mayor of Novorossiysk, Andrey Kravchenko.

According to local channels, the air raid alert in Novorossiysk was announced around 3 a.m.

"Air raid alert is on in Novorossiysk. Threat of unmanned boats," channels reported, advising Russians living close to the sea not to approach windows or walk along the waterfront.

At 03.20, the Russian news outlet @ostorozhno_novosti reported that residents of Novorossiysk had been hearing powerful explosions from the sea for about 10 minutes.

The mayor of Novorossiysk also claimed that the attack was carried out by unmanned boats.

"An attack by unmanned boats is being repelled in Novorossiysk. I ask you to stay calm, observe security measures, stay in safe places. Do not walk near the sea," Kravchenko wrote at 03:03, threatening Russians with responsibility for taking photos and videos.

Around 03:16, he announced a traffic blockade "in the area of the embankment from Isaev Street to Aleksino," advising Russians "not to leave."

At 4:21 a.m., Novorossiysk announced that the threat had passed, and a few minutes later, the previously blocked traffic was restored.

A little later, local authorities said that the entrances to the beaches and the embankment had been blocked until 9 a.m. under the pretext of "securing the bay area."
