To get started, you simply add 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide to a coffee maker filled with water. Start the coffee brewing process - this will disinfect the appliance and quickly kill bacteria.
Be sure to run a few additional brewing cycles using only clean water to ensure that the hydrogen peroxide is completely removed from the coffee maker.

Alternative ways to clean your coffee maker without vinegar
If you don't have any hydrogen peroxide on hand and don't want to use vinegar for cleaning, there are a few alternative ingredients.
Alcohol can also serve as a great disinfectant when used in a coffee maker. Simply take vodka or alcohol and pour up to a quarter into the reservoir. Then fill it with water to get a ratio of 25% alcohol and 75% water.
Start the coffee machine as usual. As with hydrogen peroxide, rinse the appliance twice with clean water.
Baking soda can also be used for this purpose. Add ¼ cup of baking soda to the coffee pot filled with water. Remove any lumps and then brew the mixture as you normally would. Rinse the appliance thoroughly with clean water to remove any abrasive particles.
