Nissan Kicks is back: the new car model impresses with its bold design
The 2025 Nissan Kicks compact crossover SUV has officially entered dealerships. Its design was inspired by sneakers and has already become a sensation in the car market.
According to Autoblog, the soft body lines of its predecessor have given way to more pronounced contours and sharper angles. They are further emphasized by the new two-tone paint options available in the high SV and SR trim levels.
The Nissan "V-Motion" grille and surrounding slim LED headlights give the model a more modern look. While the matte plastic accents around the front, sides and rear bumper add a rugged touch. The redesigned taillights now extend down the rear side panels at an acute angle, complementing the overall bold design of the car. In addition, Nissan showcases the embossed color Kicks logo on the rear pillar, a subtle detail that makes the car instantly recognizable.
Under the hood, the model is powered by a 2.0-liter MR20DD I4 engine with 139 hp and 190 N⋅m of torque, controlled by an Xtronic variator. Although the performance of the new Kicks can hardly be called the highest - it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.5-9.8 seconds. Nevertheless, the model offers decent fuel economy of 8.4 liters per 100 km in the city and 6.7 liters on the highway. The manufacturer also offers optional all-wheel drive in S, SR, and SV trim levels at an additional cost.
The top-of-the-line SR trim also includes Nissan ProPilot Assist, which Nissan says "reduces driver stress in dense traffic by automatically controlling the accelerator and brakes to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you."
Inside, Kicks adheres to a minimalist approach and the absence of unnecessary distractions. The highlight of the generally restrained interior is the contrasting double stitching on the upholstery and the color accents around the gear selector. The SR trim is equipped with two 12.3-inch screens that create the illusion of a single continuous display. The mid-range SV trim offers a 7-inch digital gauge cluster paired with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while the base S trim features two 7-inch screens. Wireless charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all trims except the base S.
Optional features include a dual-panel panoramic sunroof and a 10-speaker Bose sound system integrated into the front passenger seat headrests. Seat upholstery varies by trim level, with options in cloth, premium fabric or leatherette available, all with Nissan Zero Gravity design designed to enhance comfort on long journeys.
Legroom has increased over the previous generation, offering rear passengers an extra inch of legroom. The trunk has also increased. With the rear seats up, it is 850 liters, and with the rear seats folded down, it is 1700 liters.
