New Year's manicure: 5 designs that are long outdated
There are only a few days left until the New Year 2024. So, it's time to tidy up your nails so that everything in your festive look is perfect. What design did you choose: monochrome, with snowflakes, glitter, dragons, or maybe tiny Christmas trees? The main thing is not to overdo it with creativity.
To know what nail art should definitely not be done and what to replace it with, read the OBOZ.UA article.
1. With piercings
This element of decor on the nail plate looks more daring (and even creepy) than stylish. In addition, piercings interfere with any household chores and do not fit into the office dress code or elegant outfits. If you want to make the design extravagant, try bright colors or the trendy foam manicure technique ("Bubbly Foam").
2. Massive decor (3D)
We are talking about modeling, pearls, three-dimensional holographic confetti jewelry, 3D stickers, monograms, fake gems, plastic elements, etc. All of them are outdated and uncomfortable to wear. You'll have to replace them with a 2D design nail polish.
These artificial gemstones (especially massive ones) significantly "cheapen" the manicure. Of course, you can stick tiny rhinestones (one or two, no more!) on several nails, but we advise you to abandon them in favor of a monochrome coating in a calm color scheme.
4. Knitted patterns
Even 7-10 years ago, this manicure was admired. But in 2024, acrylic modeling on nails (including in the form of knitted patterns) is mauvais ton. Instead, cover your nails with a not-too-bright varnish and decorate them with laconic geometric shapes or small sparkles.
In the summer of 2023, shells and pearls became a trend because they are associated with beach vacations and the frothy sea. If this design is in fashion until next summer, try decorating your nails with it. However, it will be inappropriate in winter. It is better to pay attention to more relevant nail art for the New Year holidays.
