Each concept car is a glimpse into the future, where manufacturers demonstrate what the cars of the future might look like. However, not all of these models make it to the mass production stage.

Often the reason for failure is financial constraints, technical difficulties, or changes in the company's strategy. But despite this, they are still impressive, so Auto Car has shared a list of some of them.

Apollo Arrow (2016)

The car's exceptional specifications included a V12 track model or a road car with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged Audi V8 with 986 hp. However, expectations were not met, so it was not possible to bring the Apollo Arrow to market even after a demonstration at the Geneva Motor Show, where it showed good power.

Lamborghini Asterion (2014)

The Asterion was supposed to be a little less hardcore than other Lamborghini sports cars, but still very powerful. The company described the model as a "technology demonstrator" and considered it as a possible production car, but later decided to focus on the Urus SUV.

Lotus Esprit (2010)

Lotus's press conference at the 2010 Paris Motor Show went down in automotive history for its bold announcements of five new models, including the new Esprit. However, Lotus' cash reserves were depleted, so the company's CEO responsible for the grandiose plans left. The Esprit program was canceled in 2014.

Jaguar CX-75 (2010)

This car combined hybrid power with electric motors for each wheel and small gas turbine engines to increase the range. Its concept made a very good impression. However, the economic climate and the extremely high price made the car unviable.

Bugatti 16C Galibier (2009)

The Bugatti 16C Galibier was a luxury sedan with an 8.0-liter W16 engine, which was then used in the Veyron. Initially, it was planned that this car would become a production model, but plans changed and the Galibier never went into production.

Saleen S5S Raptor (2008)

The Saleen S5S Raptor, powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 with an output of about 650 hp, was supposed to be an affordable supercar with an estimated price of $185,000. However, this car never made it into production.

BMW M1 Homage (2008)

BMW showed the M1 Homage at the 2008 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. It was only supposed to be a show car, but it eventually influenced the 2009 Vision EfficientDynamics concept, which eventually led to the i8 hybrid.

Mazda Furai (2007)

The Mazda Furai, developed on the basis of the Courage C65, had a three-rotor engine that ran on ethanol and produced 450 hp. However, this car burned down during a photo shoot in 2008, which prevented its further development.

Acura ASCC (2007)

The Acura ASCC had a 4.5-liter V10 engine with over 500 hp and promised a top speed of over 320 km per hour. However, this car was never realized.

Lamborghini Miura Concept (2006)

The Lamborghini Miura Concept was introduced in 2006 in honor of the 40th anniversary of the original. Under the classic exterior was the same platform used for the Murcielago. However, the company decided not to put this car into production, looking to the future, not the past.
