The developers of the popular American science fiction series "Stranger Things" have pleased fans with the first footage from the set of the fifth season. Netflix has released several behind-the-scenes moments in honor of the eighth anniversary of the film's debut on July 15, 2016.
The teaser was posted on the series' official YouTube page. The release date of the new season of Stranger Things remains unknown. However, there are speculations that the favorite characters will return to TV screens in 2025, BBC writes.
In the published video, fans can see several familiar locations and main characters. The Duffer brothers showed how the process of creating the world-famous show looks like by removing some of the equipment and scenery that the viewer cannot see.
Actor Finn Wolfhard has hinted that the four curious characters, which include Mike, Lucas, Will, and Dustin, may reunite in new episodes: "I'm excited to have scenes with the original four."
The teaser also focuses on how the main characters have changed throughout five seasons. Fans have the opportunity to see Millie Bobby Brown as a little child from the first episodes and the adult she has become now. The actress emphasizes the maturation of the characters with a phrase: "I started when I was ten years old. I recently turned twenty."
Even though the fifth season of Stranger Things will be the last, the cast will be replenished with new members. In the upcoming episodes, viewers will be able to see Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly and Alex Breaux, The Hollywood Reporter writes.
Actress Maya Hawke said that the final 8 episodes of the sci-fi show will be like separate movies that will last much longer than usual.
"Our showrunners, Matt and Ross Duffer, take on a lot of responsibility. They have a great writing team, but they are very involved. They write a lot, and they are very intense and serious about the quality of the continuing writing, so it takes a long time to write each season and a long time to shoot them," the star said.
