Netflix has released a thriller with Cillian Murphy, which the actor himself hates to watch
The thriller Red Eye, starring Oscar-winning Irish actor Cillian Murphy, has been released on Netflix. Despite good reviews from critics, the actor himself hates watching this movie.
This is reported by Lad Bible. The star of Oppenheimer and Peaky Blinders played a terrorist named Jackson Rippner in the movie.
According to the plot, Murphy's character kidnapped the father of the woman next to whom he was sitting on the plane. Rippner hoped that the heroine would become part of his plan to kill the head of the US Department of Homeland Security.
Red Eye has an 80% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which only puzzles the actor's fans: why does he dislike this movie so much? In an interview with GQ, the celebrity was surprised that most Americans know him from this movie.
"I think it's about its duality. That's why I wanted to play him. These two things, the good guy and the bad guy in one person," the Irishman said. He added that he enjoyed working with actress Rachel McAdams.
However, he does not consider Red Eye a masterpiece. "We had fun working on the movie. But I don't think it's a good movie. It's a good B movie," Murphy explained. Critics of Rotten Tomatoes note that the plot of the movie, which unfolds on an airplane, allows you to feel a high, but "desirable" level of tension.
