Netflix corrected a post in which they were calling Yaroslav the Wise "the ruler of northern Russia" after a high-profile scandal

The well-known American streaming service Netflix has corrected a scandalous post in which the writers of the series Vikings: Valhalla" called Kyivan Prince Yaroslav the Wise "the ruler of northern Russia." However, fans of the project never received an apology for the gross historical inaccuracy.

Instead, the authors of the post justified themselves by calling the absurd description of the character an "inaccuracy." The corresponding message appeared on the Twitter account of the Vikings series (to see the photo, scroll to the bottom of the page).

"Previous character descriptions contained inaccuracies. They have been corrected below," the network informed users.

Previously, the writers of the series claimed that "King Yaroslav the Wise, the warlike ruler of northern Russia," but after the huge publicity, the character description reads: "King Yaroslav the Wise, the warlike ruler of Kievan Rus". Why the prince was called a king is still unclear.

While some Ukrainians on Twitter thanked the authors for listening to their concerns, many were not satisfied with an official apology from the service. Ukrainians believe that calling a prominent Kyivan prince the "ruler of northern Russia" is the same as playing along with Russian propaganda.

The day before, Netflix was embarrassed by a gross mistake in the description of a historical character, which led to harsh criticism from Ukrainians. Some users even decided to troll the scriptwriters.
