Netflix adds 2016 horror movie that left viewers "disturbed" and "screaming"
Those who like scary movies can now enjoy Don't Breathe directed by Federico Álvarez on Netflix. According to some users, the movie mad them "scream several times" while watching it.
The first part of the thriller was released back in 2016, the second in 2021, and the third in 2022, respectively, Metro reports. The first film starred Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette, and Daniel Zovatto as three Detroit criminals who rob homes.
According to the story, the young men spotted the house of war veteran Norman Nordstrom (Stephen Lang), and began to follow him, learning that he was keeping $300,000 in cash. When the burglars decided to break in, the blind owner was already ready to hunt them down one by one.
Horror fans admitted that they adore this movie for its unpredictable moments and an exciting plot that keeps you in suspense until the very end. Some consider it to be "the best horror movie ever."
In an interview with Collider, actor Stephen Lang said that he doesn't consider his character a villain despite all the things he does in the movie.
"You can understand why I don’t approach him as a villain, right? OK. But this particular piece, one of the things that attracted me to it is it’s extremely ambiguous. This guy, the character role I play, is a victim first and foremost and has been a victim," he said.
It is noteworthy that the first part of the franchise won several awards. It won the Best Horror Movie of the Year nomination at the Golden Schmoes Awards in 2016, as well as Best Horror Film one at Saturn Awards in 2017.
