NASA's Blue Ghost spacecraft showed a unique video of the Earth and the back of the Moon in one frame
Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost space lander, which was launched on January 15 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket to explore the Moon, has sent back another batch of amazing images. The autonomous module took a unique close-up shot of the Earth's satellite.
And in an incredible video, you can see how our planet rises and sets behind the curve of the lunar surface. The frame-by-frame footage shows a stunning view from Blue Ghost as it completed its second orbit from a distance of about 120 km, DailyMail writes.
The lander's operator, the American private company Firefly Aerospace, is making final preparations before landing on the satellite on March 2, scientists say.
"Earth rising, Earth setting, repeat!" Firefly Aerospace representatives wrote in a post on the X network.
Space fans were amazed by the incredible glimpse of our lunar satellite with its incredible patchwork of deep craters.
"What a great time to be alive! The moon is up close again!" commented one of the users of Blue Ghost, X.
During his space journey, Blue Ghost took a number of incredible images of the Earth.
If the final part of the trip is successful, the spacecraft will land in the Sea of Crises on March 2 and send another batch of images and research from there, scientists say.
