Mudryk officially excluded from the Ukrainian national team lineup for the match against Albania in the League of Nations
Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk will not play in the opening match of the new season of the Nations League on September 7. The 23-year-old missed a pre-match training session the day before due to a minor injury.
The coaching staff decided not to risk the player's health and excluded him from the squad for the meeting with Albania. On the UAF website, Mudryk's name is not on the roster.
"Rebrov will be able to rely on him [Mudryk] only on Tuesday, the day of the next game against the Czech Republic," journalist Ihor Burbas wrote on his Telegram channel.
As previously reported, the game of the 1st round of the Nations League group stage in Division B, Ukraine-Albania, will take place at the Generali Arena stadium in the Czech capital on September 7. The match starts at 21:45 Kyiv time.
Earlier, it became known that Italian Roma forward Artem Dovbyk will not help the Ukrainian national team in the upcoming matches. The top scorer in the Spanish league last season suffered an injury that prevented him from playing in September. At the same time, Serhii Rebrov decided not to call up another striker for the matches.
It should be noted that the Nations League will be one of the opportunities to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. Therefore, its results are very important for Ukrainians. Our team will find out their rivals in the qualifiers for the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico in December.
