Much more powerful and faster: Sony officially unveils PS5 Pro

Sony has officially unveiled an updated version of its flagship PlayStation 5 Pro console. The company offers "significant improvements" in the graphics power and rendering technologies of the game console.

The new PlayStation was presented by the console's chief designer Mark Cerny. He identified three key improvements in the PS5. These are a more powerful GPU, improved ray tracing, and AI upscaling.

In particular, PS5 Pro's internal improvements will provide 45% faster rendering compared to the original model. This will improve the details and frame rate in games. According to Cerny, with PS5 Pro, players no longer need to choose between performance and image quality modes.

Sony has installed a GPU in the PS5 Pro that has 67% more processing units than the current PS5. In addition, the new console has 28% faster memory.

The additional power of the PS5 Pro will significantly improve ray-tracing games, said Mark Cerny. Developers will be able to launch rays at two or three times the speed of the current PS5.

PS5 Pro also has a new AI upscaling technology (called PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution). The feature improves frame rates and image quality in PlayStation games. PSSR is designed to replace existing implementations of temporal anti-aliasing or scaling in games.

The PS5 Pro is scheduled for release on November 7 at a price of $699.99. At the current exchange rate of the National Bank, this is 28,839 hryvnias.

The console looks similar to the slim version of the PS5 but with three distinctive stripes on the side panel. And, of course, the new model will not have a disk drive.

As reported, Sony is already actively working on the development of PlayStation 6. Although there are no exact characteristics of the new generation of PS, experts are already making predictions about what the new product will offer.
