Movie featuring Ukrainian actor makes it to BAFTA 2025 longlist

The British film Rock, Paper, Scissors, starring Ukrainian actor Oleksandr Rudynskyi, has been shortlisted for the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2025. The film, which the jury members highlighted, tells the story of Ukraine war.

The short film Rock, Paper, Scissors was directed by the British-German filmmaker Franz Böhm. Oleksandr Rudynskyi played the lead role of a young man Ivan, who lives in eastern Ukraine. His father is a surgeon who saves lives of Ukrainian soldiers. At the same time, Ivan's task is to protect the wounded from the Russian occupiers.
