"Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story": what the new series is about and why it is definitely worth watching
In September 2022, Netflix released the mini-series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which told the story of a cannibalistic killer. The show instantly became a hit on the platform and laid the foundation for a new anthology.
This time, the genius of the series Ryan Murphy, together with Ian Brennan, decided to tell some high-profile stories about killers who were once followed by the whole of America. And who greatly influenced society. Next on the list were two brothers who brutally murdered their parents. The series "Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story" is available on the platform starting September 19.
What the series is about
In August 1989, Jose and Kitty Menendez were found shot to death in a luxury home in Beverly Hills. The investigation led the police to the sons of the victims, Lyle and Eric. During the trial, the boys claimed that they had been abused by their parents and that this drove them to commit the crime. However, the prosecutor's office insisted on mercenary motives for the murder. As a result, the brothers were sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
