"Missiles will soon be flying to Moscow": Russians throw a tantrum over new drone attack
On the morning of November 16, Russia complained about a new attack by Ukrainian drones. A UAV exploded on the outskirts of the town of Lyudinovo, Kaluga region.
Local authorities claimed that "several houses and cars were damaged" and that "there were no casualties or serious damage to infrastructure." However, the expansion of the geography of arrivals caused hysteria among Russians, who either feared or expected strikes on Moscow in their comments.
The morning for Russian residents began with the usual news about Ukrainian drones. This time they were "lucky" The Kaluga region, namely the city where the "Kaluganafteprodukt" oil depot is located, has been subjected to drone attacks at least twice this spring – on April 28 and May 12.
"A Ukrainian UAV exploded on the outskirts of the town of Lyudinovo, Kaluga region. Several houses and cars were damaged. There is currently no information about the victims. According to preliminary information, the explosion damaged the glass windows in several residential buildings and cut cars with shrapnel. There were no casualties and no serious damage to infrastructure," Russian propagandists quoted the governor of Kaluga region, Vladislav Shapsha, as saying.

However, such reassuring statements this time had the opposite effect. Commenters on the news on the million-plus propaganda public, along with dreams of "bombing Kyiv," suddenly became concerned about the fact that Ukrainian drones were flying farther and farther away.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian air defense allegedly managed to shoot down 34 Ukrainian UAVs overnight. Twenty UAVs were destroyed over the territory of the Kursk region, eleven over the territory of the Bryansk region, and one UAV each over the Belgorod and Kaluga regions. Another drone was allegedly shot down over occupied Crimea.
Earlier, Reuters reported that Russian refineries are under threat of closure. They are forced to stop processing or reduce volumes due to large losses amid export restrictions, rising crude oil prices, and high borrowing costs, as well as drone attacks.
Currently, there are three such enterprises in the Russian Federation that have faced difficulties: Tuapse, Ilya, and Novoshakhtyn refineries.
