Match TV propagandist outraged that Russian national team player was not punished for Ukrainian flag

The host of the propaganda TV channel Match TV, Anton Anisimov, called for sanctions against Russian national team player Fedor Smolov, who spoke out against the war in Ukraine. The pseudo-journalist cited the news of the suspension of Israeli Maccabi player Dia Saba for his wife's calls "for peace for Israelis and Palestinians" and was upset that his compatriot was still playing.

Anisimov wrote about this on his Telegram channel. The ardent Z-patriot, who is known for his hatred of Ukraine and its citizens, was outraged that Smolov's social media still has a post with a black square, the inscription "No to war!" and the flag of our country.

"I read the news: the highest-paid player in the Israeli league has been suspended from the Maccabi Haifa first team because of his wife's post that called for peace for Israelis and Palestinians. We are talking about a 30-year-old Israeli midfielder of Arab origin, Dia Saba. And in contrast, the eternal classic from F. Smolov with his heart and the flag of Ukraine, which can still be found in his social networks, pops up. This is just food for thought for comparison," the Putinist said.

Svetlana Zhurova, former Olympic speed skating champion and now a State Duma deputy, accused Smolov of fleeing the country to avoid mobilization.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Andrey Arshavin, a bronze medalist at the 2008 European Championships with the Russian national team, admitted that it was difficult for him to use the narrative of the "rotting West" after visiting London.
