All trains that used to bypass Bila Tserkva in the Kyiv region are now running through the city again. Therefore, train traffic will begin again on schedule, and deviations will be avoided. This was reported by Ukrzaliznytsia on September 9.

"The technical problems have been fixed, and our trains are running again on the standard route through Bila Tserkva. We thank everyone for their patience and apologize for the inconvenience, we are back on schedule," the national railroad operator said.

Earlier in the day, it became known that Ukrzaliznytsia continued to adjust the routes and schedules of trains that were to run through Bila Tserkva until the end of the day. Because of this, free train transfers were organized for residents of Bila Tserkva to and from Fastiv station.

"For technical reasons, the trains that were supposed to run on the Fastiv-2 – Bila Tserkva – Myronivka section will continue to detour through Fastiv-1 – Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi – Trypillia – Myronivka stations on 09.09," the company said.

The decision was made for technical reasons. As of 9:15 a.m., changes in train traffic affected the timeliness of the following trains:

  • No. 181/182 Ivano-Frankivsk – Dnipro (+0:09);
  • No. 6/216 Yasinia/Chernivtsi – Zaporizhzhia (+0:06);
  • 110 Lviv – Kherson (+0:10);
  • No. 32 Przemyśl Chłędzyn – Zaporizhzhia-1 (+1:35);
  • No. 88 Kovel – Zaporizhzhia-1 (+1:38);
  • No. 40 Solotvyno – Zaporizhzhia-1 (+1:14);
  • No. 4 Uzhhorod – Zaporizhzhia-1 (+0:41);
  • No. 3 Zaporizhzhia-1 – Uzhhorod (+2:35);
  • No. 85/86 Zaporizhzhia-1 – Lviv (+0:36).
UZ names flights that are late after drone attack from Russia

Why Ukrzaliznytsia trains are late

On the night of September 9, the railroad announced that it was changing the train route to bypass Bila Tserkva. Shortly before that, the Russian army launched another air strike on Ukraine, which forced air defense in Kyiv and the region.

According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, at around midnight, Russia launched attack drones from the Kursk region, which came to Kyiv in several waves. Two missiles and six UAVs were shot down, two more drones were lost on the territory of Ukraine (presumably falling under the influence of electronic warfare), and one of the X-59/69 missiles did not reach its target.

Although all Russian drones that threatened Kyiv were shot down and there were no damages or casualties in the city, Ukrzaliznytsia did not provide the exact reason for the change in train traffic.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that Ukrzaliznytsia will use inclusive cars for group transportation of passengers who use wheelchairs. It is expected that the car will have 4 separate compartments, each of which will be able to comfortably accommodate 2 wheelchair users and those accompanying them. According to plans, the first such car will be produced in 2025.
