Malta coach held Mudryk responsible for his team's defeat in Euro 2024 qualifying
Malta's head coach Michele Marcolini has named Chelsea midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk the main reason for his team's defeat by Ukraine in the Euro 2024 qualifying match. According to the expert, the Blue and Yellows winger constantly put pressure on his team's defense.
Marcolini's words are reported by Suspilne Sport. The coach of the Maltese noted that thanks to the activity of Mudryk, the national team of Ukraine managed to turn the tide of the game with a score of 0: 1 not in their favor. At first, Mykhailo earned a penalty kick, after which Serhiy Rebrov's team took the lead, scoring at the end of the match.
"Mudryk is an incredible player. We lost because he put pressure, earned a penalty, and then scored a goal. That's why a club like Chelsea pays him a lot. This is football, players like him make the difference. He did make the difference today. It's a shame to lose the first half 1-2, especially with those two goals conceded. A very unfortunate penalty kick, where our player was completely alone and the ball rolled into the net. I believe that the penalty episode was Mudryk's technique and ability to run with the ball very quickly," Marcolini said.
We would like to add that after this victory and England's success against Italy, the Blue and Yellows returned to second place in Group C. Our website has published all the schedules of Ukrainian qualification for the European Championship.
